Different
Types Of Identity Theft
You know what identity theft
is and that it is a serious crime. You may not know that it can
take many different forms, either separately or combined.
If you find yourself a victim of identity theft, you may
have to pay the consequences of credit card fraud, a bad credit
score, having bounced checks while your money to pay your bills
has gone to someone else, and finding that you have a criminal
record are all things you may have to face, depending on the
types of identity theft that are committed against
you.
No matter what other types
of identity theft are committed against you, having your
reputation taken is one of the worst results from the crime.
Imagine finding out when you get pulled over for a minor
traffic violation that there are warrants out for your arrest
for serious crimes you have supposedly committed.
Thieves will often use a stolen identity while they are
committing other types of crimes than identity theft. If your
identity has been stolen, you should run a criminal check to
make sure you don't become a victim of one of the worst
types of identity
theft you could have to deal with. You could also end
up suffering from inability to find work due to background
checks that prove you have been involved in criminal
activity.
One of the most serious
types of identity theft occurs when your social security number
is taken. Your social security number ties you to an unlimited
number of accounts and privileges. This number may be how you
get your insurance for health care which you badly need. If it
is stolen, it could lead to false information being placed on
your records and preventing you from getting the healthcare you
need.
Stealing a person's driver's
license is another of the many types of identity theft that
occurs regularly. The person can drive and get tickets as well
as obtain insurance and then not pay. All of this will go
against you since they are doing it with your identity.
